Dear Mr Face;
I was quite surprised to receive not long ago, a note from
you, and yet more surprised at it6 contents.
Of course I am pleased with the thought that you would like some-
thing from my pen, but it is only just to you and to myself to tell you that
I am nothing of a writer.
Besides that I am very much occupied with my college duties, and find
little time for outside duties*
Still 1 am willing to make the effort, if it iwill be an accomodation to you.
1 shall probably choose some phase or phases of the life here, as
that subject would be easier for me and probably more Interesting to your
readers than any general educational topic which I might discuss.
Whatever I write will be simple and unpretentious, as 1 should
hardly dare trust myself on anything else.
Please let me hear from you as to when you would like for the
article to be ready. I would rather write it within the next few weeks, than
do so later. When are your journals published?
I hope to be at home Christmas, when I shall doubtless see you.
