One day I went to the College Club to a tea at which Prexy Taylor was the guest of Honor, and if he didn’t make a speech about “going to college as the biggest thing that can enter a woman’s life.  I wish you could have heard it for he laid great stress on the fact that Fun and Good Times seem to be the main issue of college-life to judge from reports and from the letters written home, etc. He said he thought many parents saw this and forgot that every day must involve a large amount of serious work, thought and study, or a girl must leave because of inefficiency. He said few collegians write home of the workaday side of life - most of them emphasized the pleasures
of college-days, and after all the healthy natural Joy of College was one of the most important factors in the building up of a, never-to-be-forgotten memory. It was a splendid talk and I
could heartily endorse every word. I met quite a few Vassar people and I had a nice long chat with Prexy and his family.
