March 8, 1908 Dear Nice Family- Typed transcription of page 1 of letter …………………………. Since I wrote Helen on Friday, there isn’t much news. I went and saw Mary Friday afternoon - I think I wrote you she was in the Infirmary - and Friday evening I went to a nice playful sewing party at Ecce Rea’s over in Strong where we had luscious fruit salad, and chocolate and whipped cream for eats. I liked the rest of the “company” and so I enjoyed myself muchly. Saturday noon I went over to see Mary again, and found Katharine Taylor also reposing in the parlor, and waiting to be “let out!” I came back again for Mary at about three, and took her for a grand long ride in the wheelchair - all around the quadrangle and down by the chapel. I had more fun than a little, and felt so important wheeling “our invalid.” Her ankle is much better, and I think she’ll probably be out of the Infirmary in a few days. After that Lilias and I got into our glad rags and went to a nice tea in Davison given by Charlotte Burnett - (you remember “Choate” at Hancock?) - and three of her pals. This morning Helen Hobart - who is also a new choir sub. - and I got dressed up in our cleanest white dresses and went over to choir rehearsal to see if Prof. Gow wanted us. We had the extreme pleasure of waiting while he put in all the old subs., and then said “Miss Hobart, excused, Miss Malby, excused,” and then we trotted home to be greeted by the derisive hosts of our Raymond friends! The anthem today was early, and I felt so proud. To think I knew it! The sermon [today] was good. The man was a Dr. Briggs from Albany. I don’t know of a single other exciting event except that Mr. [Dannreuther] gave Lilias the d’Ambrosios “Canzonetta” that [unreadable] plays, and I am going to play her accompaniment for her someday for [fun]. I won’t be long. It won’t be long, till I see you! Most lovingly Marjorie P.S. This is the only paper I possess! Please excuse it!!
