Oct. 31, ‘09 Dear Family - We are all hugging ourselves first because Junior Party was such a success, and 2d [Second] because it’s all over!! It was called the “[unreadable] Junior Exposition,” and downstairs they had the Gov’t Building (Prexy and Mrs. K. and the Pres. of Students) and the Liberal Arts Building (Freshman and Senior Rooms) and the [Transportation] Building - containing the Gym [horse], the Elevator “Not Running,” the Bun-Cart that trundles the desserts around campus - and the laundry cart and the rolling chair! There was also an Aquarium (the pool, empty of course) in which was the Blue-Fish, the Star-Fish, the Shark, the Weak-Fish, the [unreadable] eave (rope ravelled out) and the Swan. The Freshman were served in a Japanese Tea Room, and then conducted upstairs to “[Yancey’s Refined Dance Hall,” where Gent’s were 35c [cents] and ladies free, and dancers were requested not to drown out the orchestra. When all the Freshman had been thro’ [through], they were taken to Phil Hall where there was a Vaudeville. Lilias as “Jessie DeCoy” in the “Pajama-Pajama Dance” was fine. There was a strong-man, and then came the skit I was in called “Freshman Shopping” or “As Others [unreadable].” There were some take-offs of famous Freshman, and two very good dances. Then our president presented the Freshman presi- Open configuration options dent with their banner on which they all went wild with joy. We sang and cheered and then ran home. This evening Caroline and Lilias and I went to the Inn for supper - each having been bidden by a Freshman; I guess we’re pretty swell. Tell Logan “These dear Sophomores had our beds all turned down for us. Weren’t they Just too swee - er?” “I am weary unto death,” so I will close right here. Hope everything is going all right.
