Dearest Ducky Daddles.
What was my surprise and delight to find two letters at breakfast this morning--one from you and one from sis. And to show my great joy I am using my very bestest not[e] paper which you see has a Vassar seal at the top.
I am having a perfectly daisy time. In the first place I have been terribly


busy for the work here is no snap. Then I have taken two beautiful walks and have been out rowing twice. I am getting to be a shark at this and row up and down the little lake with great gusts. Last night several of the girls came in to my room and we made fudge. I haven’t been blue my dear so don’t worry about me. I don’t have time to be, and then there is a little girl next door, Edith


Lancaster who has been so dreadfully homesick that I make myself cheerful by jollying her up. Tell [Grannie] I went to see her the other day and that she was over all yesterday afternoon. We are going rowing tomorrow morning.
I still feel like a sort of idiot in the classes but I don’t mind it, and then I did get some consolation in the English class yesterday for the teacher read one of my compositions to the class.
My cold is almost gone now as I did just exactly what the doctor told me to do. I have been out of doors all the time and gone to bed early and as it is now half past nine I must say good night to the dearest little daddy in the world
