Tuesday P.M. VASSAR COLLEGE [crossed out] Dearest May Louise Since noon yesterday I have created the most adorable [higiene] hat you ever saw, out of what was left over from my black-dotted pink-beflowered dress. The hat is trimmed with little pink rosebuds and is a charming shape -- very Frenchy. Then I have cut out basket ball costumes till my head aches. I’ve taken my clothes to be done up, I’ve gone to classes, and pretty soon I have to go to still another one. I got such a charming note from Mrs Snow -- she is coming -- oh do come too! And I’ve just been seeing about [something] a room for her. How very very sorry I am for Mrs Griffiths -- it’s a shame she couldn’t come back before sailing! Miss Mann doesn’t like my [grind] any better than you do. She said “You are decided perhaps in your manner, Peggy, but it’s just because you are enthusiastic -- you’re not the least bit dogmatic, as that seems to imply.” I like the Underhills better than ever. They are just perfect. We drove most of the time -- all Saturday afternoon and all Sunday afternoon, miles and miles -- There’s the bell I won’t have time to write much this week -- field day is Saturday Slews of love Peg.
