Biographical Note
Margaret Judson graduated from Vassar in 1903 with an AB in English. After teaching English for two years at Simmons College, she returned to Vassar in 1905 as an Instructor in English. She continued to teach at Vassar over the succeeding several years, with periodic absences to study at Yale and serve as Dean of Women and Professor of English at Denison University. In 1916 she was promoted at Vassar to Associate Professor of English. In addition to teaching, Judson wrote and published poetry and adapted Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice for the stage. Born in Orange, NJ, she died in Cazenovia, NY, on July 6, 1963.
