Biographical Note
Alfred F. Lichtenstein was an avid stamp collector, and upon his death in 1947, his daughter, Louise Boyd Dale (VC 1936), another philatelist, continued building his collection. When Dale died in 1967 her collection was auctioned off in a series of eleven sales from 1968 to 1971.
