I am in receipt of the enclosed letter. At the same time I am writing to Mr. Wendriner that he should turn to you. I do this with the thought that, first, through your connection with the rescue committee you could help and, second, you could contribute something out of our fund. That is to say, I don’t know what other assistance has been put into action.

Ich erhalte den beiliegenden Brief. Ich schreibe gleichzeitig an Herrn Wendriner, dass er sich an Sie wendet. Ich tue dies in dem Gedanken, dass Sie erstens durch Beziehung zu dem Rettungscomitée evtl. helfen und zweitens von unserem Fond etwas beisteuern können. Ich weiss nämlich nicht, welche Hilfe sonst noch aktiviert worden ist.
