Dear Nathan,
Cordial thanks for the modification to the wills. If Mr. M. raises objections for technical reasons, then I will accept them. I think that, provided it is possible, we should set the lower limit for the monthly allowances to my sister and Miss Dukas (for the latter, provided no marriage) at 40 Amer. dollars each. Margot’s will ought to be completely in order. I would be glad if we could put this business in order soon so that this matter is in any event arranged and I am relieved of this worry. If the proposal of setting a minimum amount in both cases does not seem acceptable to Mr. Maas, we shall just have to drop this assurance.

Herzlichen Dank für die Abänderung der Testamente. Wenn Herr M. aus technischen Gründen Einwendungen macht, so werde ich diese annehmen. Ich denke, dass wir, falls möglich eine untere Grenze für die monatliche Zuwendung an meine Schwester und Frl. Dukas (für letztere im Falle Nichtverheiratung) je 40 amerik. Dollars ansetzen sollten. Margots Testament dürfte völlig in Ordnung sein. Ich wäre froh, wenn wir die Sache bald in Ordnung bringen könnten, damit die Angelegenheit für alle Fälle geregelt ist und ich diese Sorge los bekomme. Wenn der Vorschlag der Festsetzung eines Mindestbetrages in den beiden Fällen Herrn Maas nicht akzeptabel erscheint, müssen wir diese Sicherung eben weglassen.
