I’ve put together something here for the message to the congress. In striving to keep it brief it was impossible for me to come up with anything approaching logical consistency. Read it through critically and feel free to make substantial changes during translation. I am also prepared to change the thing from the ground up, if you think it desirable.—
I have no news from Meili and Albert.

Das Streben nach Kürze hat es mir unmöglich gemacht, etwas wie logische Geschlossenheit zustande zu bringen Lesen Sie es kritisch durch und fühlen Sie sich frei beim Übersetzen erhebliche Aenderungen zu machen Ich bin auch bereit, die Sache von Grund aus zu ändern, wenn Sie es für wünschbar halten.—
Von Meili und Albert habe ich keine Nachricht.
