Panel discussion interspersed with clips of interviews with faculty, administrators, and students. The film was produced by Management Television Services (MTS) for Vassar two years after the college became coeducational. It was broadcast on October 4, 1971, to Vassar Clubs across the country via closed-circuit television. The panel convened the evening of fall convocation, September 15, 1971. It was moderated by trustee Mary St. John Villard (VC 1934), and included Elizabeth Runkle Purcell (VC 1931 and trustee); Allison Bernstein (VC 1969 and trustee); Elizabeth Hyde Brownell (VC 1926); Richard Wilson (music professor); Christine Havelock (art professor); and John "Jack" Duggan (Vice President for Student Affairs). Interviews were with Deans Elizabeth M. Drouilhet and Marion Tate; history professor Leila Barber; and students James C. Berry and Barbara Long (both VC 1972). The film ends with a fund-raising plea from President Alan Simpson.
