Date
approximately 1938-1940
Description
Personal camera footage likely taken by a member of the Class of 1940. The original film was transferred to cassette before being gifted to the library; thus, the image quality is poor. Includes scenes of the college in winter and spring, the Athletic Circle gardens, Sunset Lake, the Shakespeare Garden, . Activities and events include skiing, bicycling, smoking, studying, loading skis onto the Vassar Outing Club station wagon, convocation, a trip to the Vassar Bank, tennis, and a picnic. The 1939 Founder's Day is included and features President MacCracken drinking from a mug once owned by Matthew Vassar, and the faculty-student baseball game. 1940's Reunion, Alumnae Parade, and Class Day exercises including the Class of 1942 Daisy Chain are next, followed by Commencement. The final scenes may be from later reunions of the Class of 1940
