Dearest Mamie
Yesterday I argued with Mrs Kendrick for 20 minutes and came off victorious -- that is with a written permit to leave here on Thursday. THe argument was exciting -- I’ll tell you about it when I get home. Poor Cerene didn’t trust to the powers of oratory but had her mother write to Mrs K with the result that Mrs K flatly refused to [OBSCURED] but Cerene is going anyway. Moral -- do not let your family [OBSCURED] [but study] argumentation. Well, this is the [OBSCURED] won’t be there to meet [me]
