101 Main, Vassar.
[Jan. 22, 1911]

Dear Maman -
The McCaleb woman said yesterday that my exams in Arg. and Elec were merely deferred - that I couldn’t actually drop the subjects without faculty permission - anyhow I havne’t been going to them [air] classes. Saturday morning, I took two make-up writtens in Economics - Am hoping and praying I passed - think I did. Have completely made up my Harmony note-book and my Economics readings, but oh, you History!
Ted, Dot and I cut chapel this morning and went for a walk

We thought communion with sweet nature would do us more good than a dry sermon.
Dr. T. reminds me every so often that she has her eye on me - Br-r-r! Have gotten my leave of absence for next week-end from the office. Will take the 1:32 Friday, arriving N.Y. 3:45 - hence at 291 about 5:00. Have a grand plan to divulge to you apropos of the dance.
How about Saturday evening - Has Rollin called you up yet?
    I wrote Mrs. Overacher, the

woman what manufactures gym. suits, etc. and told her that I’d send her the cash I owe her as soon as I get the suit - so I suppose tomorrow or the next day will bring results. Had my fern-dish filled yesterday - blamed man didn’t put any inner dish in the thing and I refuse to punch holes in the brass part, so I reckon I’ll have to lie me down-town and purchase an inner flower-pot effect.
Everybody is working like mad for exams. “Engaged”

[upper right margin] I guess the left side of my little nose is stuck all right, all right

Signs are out everywhere.
Ted sort of expected that her family would flock up here today to “personally investigate” her room, but they didn’t arrive. I’m glad you told Mrs. Corey, but I doubt if Ted’s please. Prexy has gotten quite exercised over the conditions there. It’s practically o.K. now and probably will be until it rains or snow or something again.
Am very sleepy - have washed my hair tonight. Those remarks don’t need to be hitched together that I know of but - what’s the use? Love From
Muriel
