Dear Mamma
I have just written Pussy Benedict. I told her about [...] [Lesha…?] and some other little things. I will answer your question about Helen West just before I forget it.
3 P. M.
Helen does not go with any of the girls whom we invited & as I did invite her when you were here & she has not invited me since we did not feel that we had to ask her. Last Friday night she told me that Kathy [A…?] was going to have a dance at Mrs. [Carter’s?] Kindergarten House. Marjorie [...et?] & Adele were also invited. Well I must go back
The first exciting event was that my math teacher lost her [peticoat?] in class.
After my 5th hour class after lunch I came home & wrote an English theme. I had not been home all day as I stayed in Main for lunch with Gertrude Wallace & Alice Hopkins. & I had only seen Margaret Cobb for a moment in the morning. Well while I was in my room in the afternoon Mary Fox came over with a note from Margaret saying she was in the infirmary. I went over right away & on the way I got your lovely cake
Well I went to the infirmary & saw Margaret. ^she had a cold which she caught from going swimming but they would only let me stay a moment. I did not know whether to give up the dance or not & there was a possibility of Margie getting out the next day so I waited to see. But when I saw her the next day I found there was not hope of her getting out so I decided to give up the dance. [Mary?] Fox G. Wallace, A. Hopkins, L. & E. & Marion [Peterson?] all thought it was the best plan. as we had not really
Well to go back again to Fri. I studied Fri. night &
went to bed early. When I got all my lessons but German done (which I did Sat. A. M.) I went down to see Miss Palmer for a little while & had a nice talk with her.
Sat. A. M. I got your letter & studied German & had my tutor lesson & paid my tutor $3 for 2 weeks. I dont think I will have to pay her any more before Xmas because I only have one more lesson & that is only 75¢ but I may pay her so that gives me a little money extra [...] that check for $4.50 which you gave me for german.
Well then I went to the infirmary to see Margie.
I looked for the mail but no
I am so glad you like the pictures tho.
Sat. after-noon I went down town with Luella & got some very pale pink & blue velvet ribbons to make rosebud bows they will cost 3¢ a piece very cheap presents? Luella bought some flowers to give to some girls in the German Play & we came back to go to it at 3 o’clock. [I?] was quite good but I could not understand much of it. Ethel [Ro...e?] was a boy & was awfully good.
Then I went to look for my “proofs” again but they did not come. I went over to the studio
Well to go back again to Sat. night.
I went to the maids club fair & spent 15¢ for a hot dog & my fortune told by my handwriting. They told me beautiful things about my character! Then
I asked Eleanor [Hussy?] a Freshman who lives in Raymond to come over in my room & sew. All the other girls had gone to a lecture (they wanted me to go but I did not want to listen to the stupid thing & besides I want to begin on those rosebud bows. I had a few rosebuds already made so I got one bow all done & began another. Eleanor & I had a nice cozy talk & it was quite restful after the wild way I usually rush round. Then we had some of your lovely cake. it just tastes perfect. The frosting is just the
When E & L came home from the lecture (L. went swimming & asked me to go but I did not want to. I thought I was lucky not to have got a cold like Margaret. So I dont think I will risk swimming again before I come home. She got it from wet hair though & I did not get mine wet.) Well L. & E. I asked in my room for some cake. L. said Gertrude this is the best cake which I have tasted since that last cake which your mother brought up. Eleanor & I were having

Well as it is about 4 now &
I am going to call on my math teacher with Eleanor Hussey I think I will mail this now & tell you about to-night in my next letter.
