Thursday afternoon.
Dearest May Louise
We had a delightful lecture here t’other night on How to Listen to Music by Mr Krehbiel of the New York Tribune, and nothing else has been doing. All the engagements at home fairly take my breath away! Lois Pratt and Donald Ketcham -- that’s the most extraordinary thing I ever heard of -- and Ola Smith and Clarence Coffin! Whew! I’ve had four recitations to day and what I haven’t got to do before vacation isn’t worth mentioning. I am crazy to have vacation come and yet, I hate to have the year go by -- the time seems so short now that I’ll have in college. Oh I’ve been meaning to answer your question about Ester Eaton -- why yes, of course, I like her so much as ever. She’s just as sweet as she can be. She and Ruth get along famously

together. Ruth may come up to Rocksmore for part of the vacation. Esther is going home. Mary Pratt has already gone -- she hasn’t been very well.
I think it would be ever so nice if you should write to Polly and ask her to spend a week with us.
I have saved some of this months allowance and if dad will send $10 beside my regular April allowance I can manage all right I think.
I’m too tired to wriggle so I’ll say goodbye. I’ll try to write a real letter soon.
