Since noon yesterday I have created the most adorable [higiene] hat you ever saw, out of what was left over from my black-dotted pink-beflowered dress. I got such a charming note from Mrs Snow -- she is coming -- oh do come too! And I’ve just been seeing about [something] a room for her. How very very sorry I am for Mrs Griffiths -- it’s a shame she couldn’t come back before sailing!
