Mother, dear -
After the lengthy epistle I dispatched this a.m. there’s not a startling amount of news left to relate in the p.m. but I just had to write before I go to bed and tell you how much I love the Valentine you sent me. I really must go to bed right straight away. You are one sweetheart to send me that dress. I certainly am more than pleased. I would have been very willing to wear the tan one however - but this one is just exactly like what I’ve always wanted - even to the bead-fringe trimming.
Tiredly but lovingly
Muriel.
I’m sorry I didn’t get time to get Valentines for the children Kiss them for me
