14 January 1942 Dear Nathan, Mileva sent me the enclosed letter, which from her point of view is quite understandable. According to this letter it looks, however, as if it’s still not known at all which claims should be made of me. I think I should telegraph them anyway that I accept the claim, as I don’t tax the so-called earnings from the mortgages here. It always remains open to our discretion later on whether we want to pay.
