15 December 1942 Dear Nathan, I read Edman’s article and once spoke at length with the author at Lehmann’s. Basically, in my opinion the man is right. But I find the article subjective and vindictive. Criticism is good when one sticks to the facts and says exactly what one finds objectionable. That, however, is what I wholly miss here.
