Dear Professor Einstein,
I send you enclosed the draft letter by Attorney Maass, which is addressed to Attorney Guggenheim. As no ship is sailing before Tuesday, I thought it right that you see the draft and sign it yourself. I made just one small modification, which I marked with a cross in the margin, because, to my knowledge, up to now Mrs. Mileva Einstein’s creditors have not yet attached the income from the Hutten Street building.
As we do not yet know the address of Attorney Guggenheim in Zurich—unless he has written to you in the interim—I enclose a letter to my acquaintance Guggenheim in Geneva, who also forwarded the first letter to Zurich.
I would be grateful if, while preparing the final copy of Maass’s draft, Miss Dukas would make two more carbon copies for Attorney Maass and me.
