Biographical Note

Esther Merrell Stockton (ca. 1909-1996) was an interior designer, draftsman, artist, and poet. As a teenager she spent several summers at Camp Chequesset, a summer camp for girls on Cape Cod. While there she befriended Elizabeth Bishop, whose camp name was "Bishie."
