Biographical Note
Thomas Mallon, born 2 Nov 1951, is an American novelist, New York Times literary critic, professor and former deputy chariman of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Mallon received his B.A. from Brown University and his M.A. and PhD from Harvard University. His works include A Book of One's Own: People and Their Diaries and Arts and Sciences: A Seventies Seduction. Mallon was an Associate Professor at Vassar from 1979-1991. He lives in, and frequently writes about, Washington, D.C.
