Mrs. Elsa Einstein,
The Studio Cottage,
Watch Hill, R. I.

Dear Mrs. Einstein:
Thank you so much for your kind letter. I am glad that the problem of your house is settled and that again there will be only a short distance between House Einstein and myself.
With regard to our talk about Dr. Kauffmann, I wish to remind you that the material which you sent me last week is still in my hands. Should you need it before you return, please drop me a line. Otherwise, I shall keep it here in case I may be able to do something for him before your return.
I have just seen notice that the translation of your husband’s wonderful book is now due to come out in this country. I wonder whether you would allow me to make a suggestion which, however, may come too late. In reading the book very carefully over and over again, it occurred to me that it may be a very good thing if to each statement, speech, etc., the date on which it was made could be added. I think it would further increase the value of some of the material if the reader knew when it was written.
With kindest regards to all of you,
Sincerely yours,
[---]
