Professor Albert Einstein
112 Mercer Street
Princeton, N. J.
Dear Professor Einstein:
I received a long distance telephone call from Attorney General Goldstein who is away up-state and will not return to New York City until next Friday. He mentioned the fact that he had received a letter from you in which you raise some questions relative to the appointment of George Alpert, as an honorary chairman of our fund-raising campaign in behalf of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
In the absence of General Goldstein, who, I know, will communicate with you directly upon his return, may I take the liberty of calling to your attention the fact that the appointment of any one to an honorary position, in connection with the fund-raising campaign, bears no relationship to the policy and functioning of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
I should appreciate an opportunity of visiting you in Princeton at your convenience, so that I may report to you, in person, the progress achieved since the naming of the College of Medicine on the 15th of March.
Awaiting your reply, I am, with kindest regards
Sincerely yours,
Michael M. Nisselson
