Mr. Hugh Thompson, Winona, Minn.
Vssssr, May 31, 1876
Your splendid long letters received this morning. It is fun to think of yon
there in the house but may be it would not be quite so much fun if I was there. Don't think I care for the other room, anyway this summer. Think the work is progressing more rapidly than you expected is it not? L. Thompsen is not expected te live from day to day. Mr. Finnie has been fixing their house. Receivd a letter from Charlie T. yesterday. The weather has veen quite cool so far this week. We are writing another essay which I hope will be the last.
Three weeks from today I presume we will be excused. Please let me know whether you wish me to stay to commencement or not, because I must see if I can, if you wish me to. We are enjoying ourselves ever so much now. I am out in the yard all the afternoon and some after tea. Presume the other letter will cone tomorrow. Sent to Ridley's for samples Monday, but do not think anything will be more satisfactory than what I had selected from Arnold & Constable. Am glad you will paint the house white. We have had lots of A---gus [asparagus?], but no strawberriesWhen Is Kate coming to the Cen___ and who is going te be married? I could not understand,
Yours truly,
A. T.
