A speech delivered at the semi-annual meeting of the Associate Alumnae, held at Buffalo, New York, October 21, 1939, and broadcast by the Columbia Broadcasting System that evening. Text of the complete speech, including a portion not broadcast, is published in the Vassar alumnae magazine, v. 25, no. 2 (Dec. 1, 1939). Recorded 1939 October 21 Buffalo, New York. Accompanied by a portion of the original sleeve containing a handwritten note in pencil: From Pres. Office 8 Oct. '41
