Dear Mother. Father, and Pete:

I spent the morning on debate. We had an hour and a half session with Miss Gibson this morning. She was very helpful However, our poor negative team has a tremendous amount of information to gather before next Saturday, or Friday, rather.

I shall spend the afternoon on Debate and the evening on academic work, strange to say!

MarJorie Falk is up with Elsa S. for the week-end. They paid me a lengthy call yester-day morning. I was dying to get the libe, but I couldn't very well, I am having them over for dinner this noon.

Second Hall, "Candida'' was quite good last night. It is too bad that they didn't pick a play with more - than two women's parts, however.

Marian Cahill is up for the week-end. She had dinner with me and went to the play with me last night. Gee, she is brainy!

Father, do you have storage facilities for coal at the pottery? For how long a period would it be possible to buy coal? Also, is spontaneous combustion a serious drawback for storing it? And don't you think that the diffi-

culties of transportation, cross-hauling, et) can be adequately regulated by the Interstate Commerce Commission and a permanent coal commission similar to the temporary present Bituminous commission, but with greater mandatory powers? Thus the inefficiency and costliness of government ownership and operation would be avoided, and present difficulties largely taken care of? That is my present stand for the last speech. I trust to luck that those who know about business and have practical experience will agree! The pottery information is for me personally. Please answer immediately, if possible, as I am getting my speech into shape on that basis.

I haven't done a stroke of academic work since last Sunday!

We are planning to leave here Friday morning at ten, and get to Smith about four. The debate is next Saturday night. Kindly note that I have supplied the desired information.

The white sweater didn't fit at all, Mother, so I am glad I got such a pretty one here. It was pure luck that I was able to. The other one is beautiful. I think possibly I could wear a size smaller, so I may return

it and get the other one spring vacation. I'll see tonight. It is beautiful. Thanks heaps. Maybe I can help win the debate on appearance, my new white pleated flannel skirt and sweater sure do look nice!

Must get ready for dinner now. It is a lovely warm day, and very slushy.

Will be glad to see you at the debate, but you know best what your strength will allow. So far we aren't very good, but I trust we will be by Saturday! Aren't you just 'a wee bit foolish' to travel all that distance to hear me debate?

Love,

Fannie.

If you go, you had better get Pete to get you a room, as we are having a large delegation, I think, and most of them will have to be put up at Inns, etc. , the Smith chairman wrote.

Wellesley is in quarantine for Scarlet Fever and we don't know if their team will come or not.

I'd just as soon come home for vacation, and get some good Bridget nourishment.
