was very warm but yesterday and today it seems more like winter than summer- Mr. Vassar invited us all out to Springside to spend yesterday afternoon on his grounds and furnished very nice refreshments we thought he was very kind, as Mary and myself had been there before we thought we could not spend the time to go again and consequently remained in room 49. week was remarkably gay for us, Thursday afternoon Mr. Wright came over and took four of us to ride. I believe we went about 12 miles in all and had an elegant time. Friday evening some gentlemen from Po'keepsle serenaded us which was very fine and lastly I was elected Recording Secretary of Chapter Alpha for next year (how proud you must feel of your daughter at Vassar?)
