Dear Family:-
Typed transcription of page 1 ….
It is the most gorgeous day you ever saw - with the [sun] grand and [warm] and bright, and the wind blowing and just a few far clouds. It has been so queer and cold all week we were most afraid Spring had decided to drop out this year.

I was in that vicinity because I was “visiting” Elizabeth Worcester who sprained her ankle during a thrilling base-ball game the other day. It is getting along all right, and she hopes to get out tonight.
Yesterday was the [She devil’s] meeting for the [reduction] to two [of] officers for next year, and Julia Lovejoy and I are against each other for president. But please nice family, don’t expect me to get it. I am not going to. Julia simply has to have somebody run against her. It is a big enough [honor] to be “reduced to two!” I really mean what I say and I’m not endeavoring to appear modest!
I am looking forward to Jean’s coming next Saturday. Mary Taylor said she wished she could believe it was so! Miss [Judson] hopes also to see her. I saw Melanie [Atherton] last night. She is here over Sunday. She’s fine and says Bill is tearing up to Newport and [etc.] “on” the [unreadable]!
I must stop now. Goodbye nice folks.
Lovingly Marjorie
