Dear Family:-
I am stealing one of the sheets of Christian’s Paper to show you how important I feel to be able to write on it!!
Nothing awfully thrilling has happened this week except that plans are beginning for the Presidential Election on the 31st. Everybody is much excited and I get into a giggle every time I go down the Main corridor, for there are huge signs reading “This was to the Republican Headquarters,” and “Socialists Register at 426,” wrc. The funniest is a sign on [one] of the trees near Rockefeller “Are you a Mugwump? Don’t! Anarchist’s Headquarters, 23 Main!” Then they have a lovely notice on the bulletin board with a picture of the worst looking tough you ever saw, and under it is written, “Antonino [unreadable] the only Anarchistic nominee, late of Patterson, N.J. [New Jersey], now of Sing Sing.” I wish Bob could see the Election for I’m pretty sure he’d enjoy it, but “no (real) men allowed in here” I’m afraid.
We are going on a scrumptious picnic this p.m. - a whole lot of us. And L and I are going to dinner on Friday w. [with] Margaret Brady’s aunt at the Inn. I’m getting so I’m [full], I don’t know what to do. I must run.
Lots of Love
Marjorie
