Dear Olive,
When I entered Detroit this morning, the first thing that caught my eye was your name good said I, as tonight is free I will stay and hear the “Bright nite” of humanity, but lo! on inquiry I found you came the 18th when I am engaged and so I shall not hear or see you But I write a line to

Heard Anna’s “Men’s rights” in N.Y, the night I left. I believe she comes west soon. Susan told me how much she enjoyed meeting you at Rochester, and the pleasant impression made by your speech.
