Quit-Claim Deed

Dated, December 10th 1860

This Indenture, made the thirteenth day of December in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty Between Matthew Vassar of the City of Poughkeepsie, County of Dutchess and State of New York of the first part and Vassar Female College of the said City of Poughkeepsie County and State aforesaid-

of the second part Witnesseth, That the said part of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar lawful money of the United States of America, to him in hand paid, by the said part y of the second part, at or before the unsealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath remised, released and quit-claimed, and by these presents doth remise, release and quit claim, not the said part of the second part, and to their heirs and assigns for ever. All those certain lots, pieces, or parcels of land situated in the Town of Maukegau in the County of Lake and State of Illinois and described as follows to wit: Lots number three (3) and four (4) in Block number two (2), also Lots numbered thirteen (13) fourteen (14) and fifteen (15) in Block number eight (8) all in Smith and Adams North addition to the town of Little Fort now Maukegau being the same premises described in a Deed of Trust made my one James Selkigg and wife to (…) dates November twenty fourth AD 1858 and recorded in said County of Lake and State of Illinois in Book 10 T of Mortgages pages 400, 401, & 402

Together with all and singular the tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remaineders, rents, issues and profits thereof. And also, all the estate, right title, interest, property, possession, claim and demand whatsoever, as well in law as in equity, of the said party of the first part, of, in, or to the above described premises, and every part and parcel thereof, with the appurtenances. To have and to hold all and singular the above mentioned and described premises, together with the appurtenances, not the said party of the second part, their heirs and assigns for ever.

Be it remembered that On the eleventh day of January in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty two before me personally came Matthew Vassar to me personally known to be the individual described in, and who executed the foregoing instrument and acknowledged that he executed the same. for the uses and purposes therein expressed.
