Dear Family.-

Just at present “the play’s the thing,” and I eat, talk and sleep play! It is so nice, and I am enjoying it ever so much. The cast is all chosen now *except the mob!) and they are all nice. We are very proud, because whereas we have never had more than 2 of our class in a play heretofore, we now have six out of twelve characters. I don’t think you’d know many of them if I told you, but Grace Frank is the hero (she roomed with Dotty Sutphin last year), and Julia Lovejoy and I have much playing to do together, which is nice seeing we know each other so well. Ruth Presley (1909) is the [unreadable] --
Helen may remember her in the “Admirable Crichton” as the heroine -- Lady May. The Committee is so nice we love them all madly, except be it said Jean’s friend and correspondent Allice [Allan]!
Today being [unreadable] Sunday, Caroline and I went to church -- the music was good, and the service was impressive, but the minister was too much endowed with the histrionic [unreadable] to suit me. This afternoon Margaret Brady and Rose Brown and Lilias and I had the most wonderful walk. We were decked out in the most impossible clothes, for we knew it would be muddy, and we were right! We cut across the fields toward Sunrise, and went up the side of it, and came up on top from the back, as it were (lucid description!) and then came home by the
