[Wm] up, but miserable. Helen Hull called. This evening Mrs. Aldrich gave Herb, Ray & Wm. a "coming-out ball".
They read & carried paper bouquets. Wm. was deathly pale & had to go home. I talked with Mr. [P...].

Great time deciding whether I could go to see Will Todd. I went in the afternoon & staid a long time. Saw Mrs. T., Wm,
Marnie, Millie. I had heard from my [sheep]. I have 10% on Meredith Co., & 0% on Mussel shell co.! This last is 1/2
Cousin Lizzies!! Mother & I called on Jennie Wright. She was on the bed. She asked us to tea Sat. [...] call from Mrs.
Lyon. Harlan went to St. Louis. [Played] all the evening to Mother. Call from Mrs. McGultey & Mrs. Merriman &
Albert Davis.

Stormy & cold.
Mother & I went shopping. Mother had a hard fall. Marnie Todd came to dinner & for the afternoon. Ray carried my
