Herein please find my [illegible] check - unless I forget to put it in. I’ll send [illegible] off on Wednesday and you can rescue it Thursday afternoon. And - a miracle has been wrought! I asked Mrs. Kendrick to let me go on Thursday so I could go to a party on Friday with no idea she’d let me. She considered the question for Twenty four hours and, consented - she said it was because I was exceptional in never having stayed at home over time at vacations! So I’ll be with you Friday morning. Sadly Luke will again be my travelling companion - she always gets off early because she lives more than twenty four hours trip from here. Cerene has no recitations on Friday but she has some Thursday afternoon so she can’t start till a later train - Polly told Mrs. K she was going to St. Louis for the vacation, and so got excused a day early to go with Cerene. She is not very scrupulous. I don’t see how she can do the things she does when in some ways she is so frank.
If you ever get the chance to hear miss Amy Murray sing Scottish songs don’t miss it! She gave such a charming program here on Wednesday afternoon, and not only did she sing well, but she talked in the most utterly charming and entertaining manner I’ve heard in many and many a day.
Yesterday was a gala day for me. In the afternoon I took skating a cousin of Kath French’s from Poughkeepsie of the class of ‘89 - Miss Edith Wilkinson. Well. She is one person I want you to meet when you come here. We are crazy about each other! And she took me in to five o’clock tea and dinner - she wanted me to stay all night, but I had to get back to college for the Hall Play (which was awfully good), and we are going skating again on Monday. It’s so soon now that I’ll be at home, that I won’t try to describe Miss Wilkinson and her family and house to you in this letter - but they are all very aristocratic, English, natural, and original. Wait till I see you and I’ll tell you about them.
[Illegible] you won’t hear from me again for I’ll be frightfully rushed getting packed so soon and finishing up my studying. I’m going a tea for freshmen this afternoon -
So farewell
[illegible]
