Dear Dad,

Typed transcription of page 1 of letter ……………………
The ticket man is going to be here this week, so I should like my money to come home on if I could have it. The ticket with the transfer across N.Y. [New York] will be $4.21, but I think I could easily get along on $4 for I’ll have some of my own.
I am going to spend the night of [Friday], the eighteenth with Mrs. Atherton and Val, and we are going to the theatre that night. I am muchly excited, for I’ve never

been to the theatre in New York before.
Today has been pouring torrents but everybody says we need it dreadfully, so we don’t grumble much!
Lilias is going to be in Washington over Christmas, and will probably stop off a day or two on her way back to New York, so you will have a chance to see the renowned young lady.
I wish there was some news, but I wrote it all in the Sunday family letter. If this request
