At last, I have some definite news for you - but don’t put too much stock in them at first, please - for if things don't work out rightly, I’ll be sorry I ever mentioned them - but anyway here goes. Beulah Tompkins, 1911, is a girl who is back here at college assisting in the music department and holding the position of secretary to Prof. Gow - head of V.C. music. Well, to make a long story short, she is engaged and will not be here after next year. This morning I had a long talk with Prof. Gow and he offered me the position she now holds if nothing goes wrong. Of course, he would have to fill the position and I might very likely be unable to get it the succeeding year - and there are other complications that might arise so that he couldn’t definitely promise it to me, but it is very probable that I may have it.
Last night Prof. Gow gave
I am to give my recital on May 14 - have much work to do for it and no mistake. Miss Chittendon is working in extra hours for me this semester in preparation.
I must fly - have much to do this minute - Did I write you that I have learned to ring the chapel chimes? I have sole charge of it tonight - here’s hoping I get through it all right.
Vassar debates Holyoke Saturday. 25 girls are going - team consists of three. I’ll write again Sunday sure - have lesson with Miss Williamson this minute. Love
