Vassar College

Collection includes manuscripts,
professional and personal correspondence, subject files, teaching files, publicity
and press clippings. Files hold typescripts, handwritten notes and drafts, as well
as academic notebooks. Family papers in the collection include correspondence, press
clippings, photographs and family history files, including some genealogy
documentation. Press clippings include reviews of Coyle's writings, as well as
clippings regarding selected family members. Collection contains photographic
prints, CDs, DVDs, as well as audio and video cassettes.

The Caroline Furness Papers consist
of correspondence, personal and professional papers, writings, research, and
photographs created and assembled by American astronomer and Vassar faculty member
Caroline E. Furness. Notable correspondents include Furness’s father, Henry B.
Furness; Vassar faculty member Mary W. Whitney; Kan'ichi Asakawa; Sakusaburo
Uchigasaki; Rose O'Neill; Vilhjalmur Stefansson; and other astronomers, including
Jan van der Bilt, Phoebe Waterman Haas, and Ruth E. Smith.

Post's diaries as well as correspondence to Post after his tenure at Vassar College.

The collection contains
correspondence, ephemera, and photographs, mostly relating to Charlotte and Clara
Barnum's education and continued association with Vassar College. Also included are
materials related to Clarine Warner Curtis (VC 1888), a life-long friend and
correspondent of Clara Barnum, whose daughter, Virginia H. Curtis Milburn Robertson
(VC 1930), continued correspondence with Clara after Clarine's death in
1945.

Diary of Christine Ladd-Franklin,
Vassar College Class of 1869. Describes her experiences as a Vassar student, the
challenges of financing her education, and her early years of teaching before
beginning her graduate work in mathematics.

Correspondence, music scores, manuscript, typescripts, audio tape, biographical materials, concert programs, and clippings relating to the life and professional career of Clair Leonard.

Materials relating to Raymond's life as the daughter of a Vassar College president, a Vassar student, administrator of the College, and unofficial historian. Also included is information about the years she spent as a grade school teacher.

and during his time as a trustee of Vassar College.

Correspondence, date books, sheet music, programs, clippings and scrapbooks relating to the Dannreuther Family, especially the musical careers of Gustav and Nellie Dannreuther.

Correspondence, clippings, ephemera, and poetry from Ballenberg's time as a student at Vassar College. Includes two poems by "Betty" and "Muriel." "Muriel" may be Muriel Rukeyser, VC 1934, but it may also be Muriel Fox, VC 1935.

Examinations, student papers, accounts, programs, publications, and photographs from her years at Vassar College, circa 1913-1917; manuscripts of two poems; and forty-five letters to Elizabeth Hazelton Haight, Vassar President Henry Noble MacCracken, Walter Adolphe Roberts, Charlotte Babcock Sills, and others. Also includes letters of husband Eugen Boissevain, Mrs. A.W. Parsons (Millay's "Auntie Kem) and others. The remainder of the collection consists of published works by Millay or material about her life and career, such as her involvement in the Sacco-Vanzetti murder trial, and includes photographs, articles, clippings, reviews, programs.

time at Vassar and beyond.

The collection contains
correspondence, writings, photographs, and clippings related to the life and career
of American classicist and Vassar College professor Elizabeth Hazelton Haight (1872-1964).

This collection consists of correspondence, audiovisual materials, manuscripts, and
printed materials documenting the career of poet Elizabeth Spires.

Correspondence , manuscripts, clippings, photographs, and other material relating to Richards' personal life, her education, and her work at MIT and Vassar College, the home economics movement, and womens education.

and typescripts, newspaper clippings, travel documents, legal and financial papers,
family papers, photographs, printed materials and miscellaneous items relating to
the life and work of Eloise Ellery. There is also significant collection of items
which belonged to Frank Ellery.

One photograph album which documents Nollen's life from her time as a student at Vassar College (1890-1894) and the University of Chigago (1894-1895). It also included images from her many positions as a teacher of Greek and Latin. There are portraits of her classmates at Vassar College, the University of Chicago, and Providence High School, as well as portraits and candid photographs of friends and family in Chicago; Grinell, Iowa; Saratoga, New York; Alleghany, Pennsylvania; Providence, Rhode Island; and Lake Forest, Illinois.
