Correspondence, clippings, notes,
speeches, interviews, photographs, manuscript and published versions of her
writings, other publications, bibliographies, and copies of historic documents
pertaining to materials on women's history. There are also family letters and
photographs, biographical materials, and miscellaneous items relating to Vassar
College.

Collection includes correspondence,
subject files, research notes and associated correspondence. Files hold typescripts,
manuscripts and drafts. Journals and diaries include poetry and sketches. Press
clippings document reviews of Márquez’s writings. Collection also includes some
photographic documentation relating to Márquez’s personal and professional life.
Personal papers contain some correspondence, academic administrative papers, as well
as family genealogy documentation.

Correspondence concerning Vassar
College activities, speeches, and engagements with Lyman Abbott, Nathan Bishop,
Stephan M. Buckingham, Charles S. Farrar, Milo P. Jewett, Maria Mitchell, John H.
Raymond, Lucy M. Salmon, James Monroe Taylor, Matthew Vassar, and Henry Van Ingen,
with some family correspondence. Other items include his notes from a trip to
Washington, D.C. in 1861, and miscellaneous programs.

The Elizabeth Bishop Estate and Posthumous Events Collection consists of materials pertaining to the literary estate of Elizabeth Bishop, managed by Alice Methfessel after the poet's death in 1979. The collection also includes ephemera and realia from various events celebrating Elizabeth Bishop since her death. Included are, pamphlets, posters, flyers, clippings, video and audio recordings, and files of general information.

Slaughter's manuscripts on the history of women and Great Britain, as well as correspondence with Vassar College about her work.

The Eugene A. Carroll Papers document Carroll's academic career as an art historian, curator, writer, as well as his involvement as executor of the William K. Rose estate. The papers contain professional and personal correspondence and include letters documenting Carroll's relationship with his partner, William K. Rose, during the 1960s. The W.K. Rose material also includes photographic prints, travel journals, a limited volume of subject files and writings by Rose, and one audio tape interview. The Carroll Papers contain subject files, including teaching and research reference materials, travel files, datebooks, writings by Carroll, correspondence with colleagues, friends, and Rose, as well as a limited volume of correspondence from Carroll to his parents. Holdings also include journals, photographic prints, and documentation regarding the management of the Rose estate and Vassar's W.K. Rose fellowship.

The collection consists of journalist and educator Jeanne R. Lowe's correspondence, writings, notes, and substantial research materials pertaining to urban renewal, urban housing, the role of women in the sciences, race, public housing, and community planning in the United States. Specific cities covered include New York, New Haven, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Miami, Sunnyvale (CA), Chicago, Rochester, and Washington, D.C.. Writings include drafts of Lowe's book (1967), as well as numerous other publications written for the Ford Foundation, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and other non-governmental organizations. Also included are personal and professional materials related to Lowe's life and career, including her work with academic organizations as a lecturer and organizer for Goucher College, Vassar College, and New York University.

Research files, survey data, oral
history transcripts, photographic prints and academic writings by Lawrence Mamiya,
documenting his research on the Nation of Islam and its role within African American
communities and the Black church.

A collection of papers created by Margaret H. Laidlaw Richardson (VC 1923) during
her time at Vassar College, including a photograph album; Vassar College exams, syllabi, and grades; and College Entrance
Exam exams and scores.

Correspondence, manuscripts, printed material, journals and photographs relating to Scott's personal life and professional life as an author and professor of English at Smith College.

Papers created by and relating to Matthew Vassar, founder of Vassar College, on microfilm.

Reports and preparatory material for accreditation by the Middle States Association.

The collection consists primarily of photographs taken by American photographer Rosalie Thorne "Rollie" McKenna (1918-2003) that document life and events at
Vassar College during the 1950s and 1960s, including contact sheets, negatives, and prints. It also includes photographs taken by
McKenna of Springside National Historic Site, Matthew Vassar's former estate in
Poughkeepsie, as well as correspondence with the National Park Service.

Thirty original letters by Hale and typescript copies of letters to and from Hale (originals also available) concerning the inclusion of the word "female" in Vassar Female College, women's education, other business of Vassar College, missionary work, and women in the church. Other correspondents include Milo P. Jewett, Benson J. Lossing, John H. Raymond, and Matthew Vassar.
