Vassar College--Faculty

The bulk of the Claflin collection is from the years 1927-1934, the period in which she received her graduate degrees and began to teach at Vassar College as an associate professor and later as a full professor. While the collection itself is mainly made up of correspondence, it also contains an eclectic selection of material, including: various drafts of her doctoral thesis, newspaper clippings concerning her career, programs of exhibits, class notes and assorted miscellanea.

This collection contains syllabi, course outlines, notes, journals, drafts and
offprints of scholary essays, and photocopies of academic articles documenting the
career of Anddrew J. Tallon.

Materials relating to Imbrie's work as a writer and professor of English. There is some additional material relating to her personal life. Of particular note are Imbrie's letters home from Smith College and the University of North Carolina, letters from her friend John M. Randall while he was serving in Vietnam, and Imbrie's research material and drafts for .

speeches, poems, and other items, primarily resulting from an official connection
with Vassar College, written by Vassar students, faculty or staff, or by persons of historical
and cultural significance.

Class materials, presumably from Swain's teaching career at Vassar College.

Collection includes manuscripts,
professional and personal correspondence, subject files, teaching files, publicity
and press clippings. Files hold typescripts, handwritten notes and drafts, as well
as academic notebooks. Family papers in the collection include correspondence, press
clippings, photographs and family history files, including some genealogy
documentation. Press clippings include reviews of Coyle's writings, as well as
clippings regarding selected family members. Collection contains photographic
prints, CDs, DVDs, as well as audio and video cassettes.
